Alan Wright and Edward Gibson have been in the Food Industry for all their working lives. They have separately built multi-million pound businesses, during which time they developed long-lasting relationships with major Retailers, Foodservice operators and Convenience Groups.

They have now joined together to form Freshway Connect to use their knowledge to help businesses develop. Understanding how the market works and the expectations of the customer, and using market intelligence they can help you significantly to position your offer correctly.

Alan Wright began his food industry career working in the family seafood business after attending Cardiff University. With a 'hands-on' entrepreneurial approach the family business was developed extensively expanding into first sandwich fillings, then sandwiches and then other 'food to go' products. Creating a state-of-the-art facility at their base in the West Midlands they created long-lasting relationships with leading retailers and Foodservice partners including ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Greggs, Compass, Bidfood, Brakes producing ‘own-label’ and world-renowned brands such as HEINZ.

Alan offers a combination of valuable ‘know-how’ derived from experience in various SME's where flexibility and agility are key attributes, working in family run businesses, working in much larger blue-chip global organisations and also working independently as a business consultant. Alan was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by The University of Wolverhampton in 2004 for 'exemplary services to industry and the local community'.

Alan is a creative, energetic and proven commercial operator, who has proven ability to develop business for companies operating in a number of different markets. He has an acute understanding of the trading landscape, and in addition to his commercial acumen, his previous experience in management, operations and finance deliver great benefits to the organisations he works with.

After completing his Law Degree, Edward joined his brother when he started a new business in bakery retail. Together they developed a chain of 28 shops in North Wales and the North West. They later developed the food manufacturing business based in Ellesmere Port, supplying retailers, food service and convenience customers across the UK.

Edward was a founder member and later Chairman of the British Sandwich Association, established to drive up standards of manufacture and also to represent the industry’s interests to government. He has also worked with a number of companies in a variety of fields, and his knowledge has been shown to be of great value.
